We’re doing everything we can to make our beauty products and manufacturing processes more sustainable, focusing on initiatives that help to protect our climate, preserve our forests and care for our oceans.
Climate conscious
Reducing our CO₂ emissions is an ongoing priority and key to reducing our environmental impact overall. We have reduced our CO₂ emissions by 48% in the last 10 years (38,000 tCO₂e) thanks to many of our climate-conscious initiatives, including a move to 100% green, renewable electricity at all our factories and sites. In addition, we climate compensate for 100% of our remaining emissions.
Forest friendly
In Sweden, we grow up surrounded by vast green forest landscapes, so we have an in-built appreciation for our forests and the valuable resources and ingredients they provide. That’s why 99% of our cardboard and paper packaging is either recycled or from FSC™-certified paper mills. We also plant and protect over 6 million trees each year in reforestation and conservation programmes around the world, helping to protect our precious climate.
Water-smart beauty
Water is a key ingredient in cosmetics formulations and manufacturing, so we take great care to use it wisely and where possible, to use less. We’ve reduced our water use per product unit in our own factories by 18% since 2015.
